Who are we?
Hello and welcome to My Vet Nurse!
My name is Samantha (Sam) and I am the owner and veterinary nurse of My Vet Nurse. I live in Christchurch with my husband and our 2 beautiful young children (and can't forget our dog fur babies Norman and Echo too!).
With a life-long love of all creatures great and small, I studied hard and my childhood dream of working with animals came true.
Having been a qualified veterinary nurse for many years now I have seen all the weird and wonderful things this industry can offer. I gained a special interest in animal behaviour and developed skills in safe, effective and fearfree handling allowing me to work with the animal not against it, resulting in less stress for you and your pet.
Why we started
I started My Vet Nurse after being inspired by many clients and their pets. Some pets, before they even step foot in the clinic, are already trembling or their owners have had a very difficult time getting them in the carrier or car. I have seen this happen day in and day out, associating the vet clinic with unpleasant experiences and your pet can become more fearful each time.
Many pet owners may also have obstacles in getting their pet to the vet clinic, e.g. elderly people, disabilities, mums with young kids, busy work schedules etc
That's where we come in. By being a mobile vet nurse and coming to your home, at a time that suits your schedule, we can minimize stressful vet trips (only when necessary). We provide the highest level of pet care, advice and compassionate support to you and your beloved pet.
